2008 Juno Nominee


The most recent Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra CD, “L’Estro Armonico” with guest violinist Elizabeth Wallfisch was just nominated for a 2008 Juno Award in the “Classical Album of the Year (Large Ensemble)" category.


Stonehouse Sound in Alberta!


Owner and chief Engineer, John D.S. Adams was hired by the Banff Centre in the amazingly beautiful Banff, Alberta to fill the Senior Recording Engineer position.


2007 Juno Winner!


The 2 CD set "Mozart Violin Concerti" directed by James Ehnes has won the 2007 Juno for classical album of the year (large ensemble). John editing, mixed and mastered this project.


The Gryphon Trio’s double CD of the complete Mozart piano trios was nominated in the chamber ensemble category.


TWO 2006 Juno Winners!


Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra won the "Classical Album of the Year (Large Ensemble)" category with their recording "Beethoven Symphonies 5 & 6" (conducted by Bruno Weil). They also won the "Children's Album of the Year" for the "Baroque Adventure: the Quest for Arundo Donax" CD. John was recording engineer on both of these projects and was involved in the post production editing and mixing on the "Baroque Adventure" project.

Jazz


With our recent activities at the Banff Centre, the world of Jazz is at our doorstep. Sessions with Dave Douglas, Hugh Fraser and David Krachauer have been the highlights.


Jane Bunnett was here with a large and incredibly talent crew of Cuban musicians. Don Thompson was present performing an arranging some of the tunes.


Pop


"Come Alive", the amazing debut release from singer songwriter Kevin Fox continues to turn heads. John was intimately involved in this project as co-producer (with Kevin and Erin Donovan), and engineer. This is a must have CD: go buy it! (http://www.maplemusic.com/artists/kfo/default.asp)


Power pop group, The Nines are a busy bunch of guys. They recently released "Calling Distance Stations" on which John was involved in the mixing of seven tracks... Jason Faulkner was enlisted as mixer as well. Coming out any day is the Nines holiday album “Christmas Snow and Icicles”. A lovely 5 song EP of catchy winter music. The Nines have also been enlisted to provide the theme music for the new Global TV series, The Jane Show. John recorded and mixed this 30 second ditty.

5.1 Surround


John just finished recording of the new Project from Any Milne (NY)and Benoit Delbecq (Paris). The music was conceived, written and performed with surround reproduction in mind. Mixing will begin in June. This will be an amazing recording.

Stonehouse Sound was on location at the Weston Recital Hall (Toronto Centre for the Arts) recording Yo Yo Ma and Emanuel Ax performing Mendelssohn's "Song Without Words". Working with Yo Yo Ma, Emanuel Ax, engineer Richard King, and producer Steven Epstein was a privilege and pleasure.
